Diabetes Drops

Diabetes is a common metabolic endocrinopathy (hormonal disease), which is related to the pancreas' (leaf shaped organ in the body, which produces Insulin, the hormone which avoids too much accumulation of sugar in the blood) dysfunctions:

  • Often times obesity is a symptom that contributes to the issue due to the presence of the excess fat tissue decreasing the production of insulin, or the way in which it is distributed in the body.
  • In middle age, insulin decreases gradually;
  • Anxiety can increase Epinephrine production in the body, which can:
  1. Block insulin secretion;
  2. Stimulate glucagon (hormone which causes conversion and storage of excess Glucose (sugar) release;
  3. Activate glycogen (stored form of glucose) breakdown.
  • Over-eating and/or unhealthy cravings is a common reason to produce sugar in the blood since diabetics don't have enough insulin to drop down the sugar level.
  • Drinking and smoking can increase the cholesterol level in the body, which in turn decreases the insulin 's production

Composition and functions:

α-amylase inhibitors reduce the glucose peaks that can occur after a meal,

Slowing the speed with which α-amylase can convert starch to simple sugars until the body can deal with it.

This is of particular importance in people with diabetes, where low insulin levels prevent extracellular glucose from being cleared quickly from the blood.

Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors are used for diabetes mellitus type 2 that
works by preventing the digestion of carbohydrates (such as starch and table sugar).
carbohydrates are normally converted into simple sugars (monosaccharide's), which can be
absorbed through the intestine. Hence, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors reduce the impact of
carbohydrates on blood sugar

A lipase inhibitor impairs the enzyme responsible for the breakdown of fat, thereby
blocking its function. Subsequently, fat molecules remain undigested and unabsorbed as they move through the gastrointestinal tract. This means their caloric content is not released into the
bloodstream.
